world of pancakes

hey.  so i've been making pancakes.  i usually use the instant, just add water, powder in a box type..  they're good, plus i always put lots of fruit on them.  sometimes i mix things into them too..   often i do..  cook fruit right inside them, or sometimes peanut butter or nutella.  it's kidna strange because when i was younger i didn't like them and now i do.

anyway..  i was looking at something and came across a site about different pancakes from around the world.  this inspired me try different pancakes!

pancake #1. german pancakes.

they're baked in a pan in the oven but i found a recipe for mini ones made in muffin tins so i opted for that option.  i have some jumbo muffin tins that i haven't used so i gave that a go.  the recipe i used is here.  i think i didnt do the orange zest, and i may have used almond milk.  i think so, but awhile ago we had a liter of milk and i might have used that?

they puffed up and then kinda deflated creating a little pocket that i filled with yogurt, berries and whipped cream.  yum!

pancake #2 was a Pannukakku Finnish Pancake!

also a baked pancake, but made in a baking dish, the recipe i used is here.  i see it calls for maple syrup, i definately do not have that but i think i used some dandelion syrup that i had in the back of the fridge.  also no lemon zest and i probably used almond milk. i had some fresh bluberries so yum.

the center was kinda chewy, but i liked it.  also i had lots of left overs and it was good the next day cold.

pancake #3 - french crepes

i thought that making crepes would be difficult, but they weren't at all. when i first tried them i was thinking that i like a more substantial sorta pancake instead of something so thin but they were suprisingly filling.

oh, the recipe i used is this one.

i ate them with some cooked pears, creme fresh and whipped cream.

well, i guess i'm gonna have to find something new to make next time.
pancakes! yay!

more strange games..

so here are some random ones i have saved..

death road to canada..   i dont know, it just seemed strange.. why is getting to canada so dangerous?  are those zombies?  ..but also notice the amazing 90% off sale they had going!

super digestion moose!  cause that makes sense..   and yeah, you want to avoid starvation and beware of laxitives!  i actually downloaded this one and i think i sucked at it..   i think it was this moose prancing along and there was food falling and you had to catch it?  something like that..   my moose kept dying.

i became a dog!  i downloaded this one too.. this was awhile ago..  i think you had to try talking to other dogs to figure things out and make sure you got to the food dish in time.. something like that..  i didn't play it long..

i'm not sure what this one is all about..  but toast..  an epic adventure with toast.

i am giraffe!  ..an giraffe was born mutant.  ..that's for sure!  that's the weirdest looking giraffe i've ever seen! but what's with all things laying around him?  are they dead giraffe mutants?  maybe they're just sleeping..  yeah..

strange games

the world is full of strangeness....

sometimes when looking at the google play store for something interesting to play (i like puzzle type games and honestly most of them suck..  so i'll download a few and check them out and then delete them right away usually) but sometimes i get kinda lost looking at all the strangeness out there.

i started taking screenshots sometimes...

i thought i should post them here.

and just incase 10 billion wives is not enough...

i actually did download the husbands one..  it was just one of those idle games..  i dont have the patience for that stuff..
the same company has a few more though..

the ultimate kept man life...  if you work, you lose!

zombies vs. diy store!

and then this one?  strange indeed... i think it's called 'my sweet angel' ... i don't have the name in the pictures..  but she's also an aline, a magic girl, future being and even an oscillating fan?!???
i don't even know what to say about that..

edmonton funicular!?!!?!

i guess the new funicular opened at the beginning of december?  you'd think that there would be more fuss about this thing.  i'll admit i dont watch a whole lot of news,  but you know, if i think about it i dont think i've really heard ANYTHING about this thing?  the only reason i do know anything about it is cause i saw the construction and wondered what they were doing.
but anyway... it's up and running! and i went and checked it out.

that's the view from the top.  yep.  the frozen river valley in january!
and then this here is the stuff.
it's like a big glass elevator that goes down the hill.  there are steps at the side that you can go down too.

there were not many people around, which is good, cause i got to go in by myself.

at the bottom there is a little space with some blue wavy sculptures, i read somewhere that they are supposed to represent the currents of the river or something like that i think?  it looked kinda desolate at the moment, but i think it was just wintery.  there's a little bridge to walk across the road below that leads to an elevator that you can take down closer to the river.  it was not in service when i was there.  there were steps to go down too, but i didnt feel like going down at the moment.

this is on the way back, a view of the whole thing, the elevator and the funicular in the back...

and the sculptures..

and then one last picture i took while i was waiting for the thing to come back down to take me up!
